I think it depends on what you do with the fractal-generating software ... I have a few examples I thought had a decent "feel" to them at the beginning of this gallery ... but I agree that this technique produces really cool results! |
There is a certain clean beauty in the precision of fractal art, as your designs clearly show. IMO the images we are creating here take their inspiration from fractal geometry but take advantage of the often-random energy of creativity--they seem much richer, more individualistic, a more direct expression of the human who is operating the computer. So I like them better. I like they way my mind interacts with the image as I create it. In 5 years I may look at these & marvel at my own primitive simplicity--or maybe I will think they are the best I have ever done, everything after was in reaction to it. Who knows?

NASA was obliging enough to offer up this already-interesting photo (of France)  in a hi-res/square crop version ...
