Wow, no santa hat to go with our blue shirts this year! What is the world coming to !!

This must be the first year since I have been here that we have not had our silly santa hats.

:-(

Mind you.

this is L's first Christmas with wifey, so there could be lots of things that he has overlooked.

Like a speed challenge hehehe

More proof that this is a dying site because it's a mere afterthought for Langdon now? I guess I really do miss the good ole days of DPC. *sigh*

I forgot all about the hats, but I did look for a speed challenge this morning. There could still be a speed challenge in the next few days. I'm sure it's happened before that they've come on a different day than when one would have expected them.

I haven't seen any proof yet that this is a dying site nor that Langdon is paying less attention. The trends are changing somewhat but from what I can see it looks like the participation on the voting site ha been nearly unchanged the past year. The entries has gone down but I think it's too alarming yet. And I really doubt that the santa hats are proving anything :)

Langdon is not able to bring the good ole days (at least not alone). That is something the users has to do IMO.

I say we should all go on strike until we get our Xmas hats, we will stop working and have a holiday!! Yeah!

Oh, damn, it is a holiday already.

Okay, back to the beer, turkey and crackers:)) As you were.

I was going to say something like this, but still in a good place at the moment..

More wine? (or should that be whine?).

Merry (hic!) Christmas.

Its just been one of those traditions that has always been here since I have been here. How else would you explain it other than he's paying less attention? I guess its just a detail that I really enjoyed.

I've been a member since early 2004 but only really remember them last season. I guess I never really paid much attention to it. But I see your point. It's always disappointing when a tradition is broken whatever the reason.

But according to this thread we didn't get them until the 25th last year so who knows. So they might still show up - who knows! :)

Yeah, I see that, and 'site death' is a bit over-dramatic, but I just hate to even think of this place on a steady decline with no one steering the ship. I do, however, remember the hats several times.

Hmmm. maybe they are being redesigned with a little lump of coal in the tassel and that's why they are late?

Yeah, I miss 'em too. Hope the party hats for New Year's make it.

Happy holidays, everyone!

Get with the program. Santa's going green. He can't give lumps of coal anymore. It's not environmentally friendly.

Oh good, we can get lumps of uranium instead -- this way we can glow in the dark on new year's eve.

I want fireworks with new year. We can all blow our virtual me to pieces with firecrackers.

I would love to see the Santa hats back, but even better would be green hats with lumps of coal instead of bobbles on the heads of all known trolls. It can't be that difficult to winnow out those, and possible voting circles of trolls who are only here to ruin things for everyone else. Add a yellow-shirt icon for those who are not only trolls, but who are too cowardly to enter challenges themselves.

Don't be silly, Ray, we all know you're Santa Claus! ;-)

I have it on good authority that L has decided the site needs to stay secular, in deference to the diverse membership. As such the site now observes Festivus.
At DPC, we celebrate Festivus every day of the year, by airing our grievances! ;-)

DPC...another casualty of the ultra-PC world. That's disappointing. Last I checked, Santa Clause was pretty secular - unless one of the religions assimilated commercialism while I wasn't paying attention.

*sigh* Too bad about the Santa hats. Well, do we at least get little party hats and noisemakers for New Year's? Or fireworks?
