Twice this week some joker kids have decided it would be fun to do doughnuts in the two-acre field across the street from our house. Last night, they took long enough that I could get dressed, grab my camera, slap the 300mm lens on, set the ISO to either 6400 or 12,800, and grab this picture. In another I got five of six letters on the license plate, but I didn't know how to describe the car to police. I'd like to know what kind of car it is in case it happens again and I can call quickly. If you can't see, it looks like the lights pop up out of the hood which might help.

If I had to take an off the hand guess, I'd say Nissan Sentra or something similar.

I agree on it maybe being a celica as well the front headlight looks like an older flip-up style headlight

Mid 80's Toyota Supra? Was it front or rear wheel drive?

I could post the shot with the license plate when I get home if you want to work on it. :) I can't quite make out the first letter of it, the next two letters are possible to make out and the three numbers are easily made out. I called it in last night, but I don't know if the cops actually were looking for something like this. Seems sorta low priority, although it's really annoying at 3:00AM with all the noise. Literally they were out there for five minutes.

Perhaps when you get older(notice I didn't say grow up) and have an understanding of the value of personal property and sleep you will have a different opinion.

So around 35, is that when you guys gave up on fun, as well as turning off sarcasm detection?

Plus sleep is for the weak haha.

It certainly looks like one of the androgenous econobox Corolla/Sentra types from the early to mid-80s.

Problem is, it's old enough that it's hard to find comprehensive model pics without making a career out of it.

Image enhancement software is your only hope.......got that spare $25K????

Might I suggest employing old fashioned "lesson teaching"?

As I see it you have two GREAT options.

Option 1: Purchase cheap paintball gun and mark their car so you can find it again.. (actually does more damage to a car than you would think.. And no I'm not a vandal)

Option 2: Purchase 10lbs of nails from your local hardware store, then make caltrops, or alternatively, spread liberally either in the field, or in a pattern leading up to the field.

..............

I suggest this because I have a strong suspicion these are just kids who need a bit of a lesson, not a criminal record... Remember, there's nothing just about the justice system. Think about it.

Edit: You would of course use a magnet to recover the nails after their purpose had been served.

The sleep thing most of all!

Pretty sure it's not a Celica or Supra as the body styles just don't match up.

The pop up headlights are a bit confusing as to what this may be. Looks sorta like Nissan EXA or Pulsar NX but sorta not too. How's that for helpful?

toyota tercel or corolla. Mid 80s. I had a 83 tercel and they did have a sedan option. Good luck.

I actually started taking Melatonin last week...What a trip. I had some of the craziest dreams on that stuff. Didn't really help me sleep through the night, but for the little bits of time I did sleep, I slept deeeeep.

I agree with the Celica suggestion:

I also agree with the paint ball gun idea... :)

Those were my first thoughts to be honest but they never came with pop up headlights did they?
