GREAT thread, I might have to see if I can come up with some diagrams for some of mine and put them on here.

Can't wait to see the setups for your dance pics. Although, I didn't see any icons in the PS file for those Elinchrome 1200's you use. Maybe something like this..

Thank you guys so much! I am doing a family portrait shoot inside today at 11:30 at their house so this is really helpful for tips. I think they are wanting traditional, dress-up portraits, which is pretty much out of my norm since I usually like to try for more creative "fun" poses. But this lighting information is a big help. THANK YOU!

I'll second that! I might use a few of the examples in this thread to try some different setups - I seriously like lvicari's setup for Blue Man - now I just have to get the kids to cooperate! If they do I'll post them and my setup. Thanks hopper for a truly great thread!

I think most prefer to keep the images smaller in the threads and have linkable thumbs. Members are able to from their galleries, though I believe you can use bb code with photobucket to do the same.

BtW I really enjoy these three you posted much more then your entry. These three seem to have something more to them. Specially the second near candid with them all laughing is really nice.

SNAP. This is so handy! Thanks everyone for sharing your setups. Oh & I have strobox on my iphone, think its very handy. Now I just need to actually get the hang of studio photography...

as always, a really useful thread. Thanks hopper! I love the last image you posted (as well as the others, of course). It's really interesting to see the effects of the sun so high with the flash.
