Ahh well you never know...but 6.8 on your first ever challenge...that's usually ribbon territory or pretty close to it! |

My quest to end above 6.0 is amazingly difficult! It keeps bouncing up and down and up and down in minuscule amounts above and below. I think it's going to come down to the vote scrubber (which was pretty harsh on my powerlines shot...) Come on vote scrubber!! You can do it!

This seems to be a good time to remind people of Forum Rule #11:
#11: Do not attack other users. This includes "calling out" specific comments or commenters in a hostile manner. Personal attacks are never appropriate in a constructive discussion. If you disagree with another participant, address their points without attacking them personally. Be aware that others may have differing opinions of a personal attack, so use care when posting. Please note that this includes publicly "calling out" commenters (whether by name or not) in a hostile way.
And I'll add that calling out a commenter in the forums, with details, basically identifies your entry to them. And sometimes to others as well. That includes "Thank you for your comment" publicly posted as well. If I say "Thank you Fred for your nice comment about my entry", it's possible that I've just identified my entry to Fred.

This is the first time I've seen this last part acknowledged here so thank you for posting it. It has often occurred to me how easy it is for someone to figure out a person's submission if they happen to leave one comment on only one entry, and then that person thanks them in the forum. I'm surprised I haven't seen this addressed more often. I think that most people assume that if someone leaves a comment on their entry that the person probably just left a bunch on others as well. This is not always the case, and I frequently leave a single comment and not in bunches. Something for others to think about indeed.

| There are some pretty impressive pictures in this challenge so I think it would be amazing if I did win something. Ty for thinking so. I tried some scratch tickets and no luck there so I am kind of hoping now for something here. :>) |

I agree with Deb, I think you've got a top 10 going. Ribbon's are much harder to guess.
I'm back below 6 again. This has been the steadiest challenge I've ever had. It has vacillated between 5.98 and 6.02 for the last 130 votes. I'm still hoping for above 6, but I don't think it's the type of picture that does well in the last day, hurried voting. So my prediction is that it will drop from here. |

There certainly have been brand-spankin'-new members who claimed a blue on their very first challenge. Karma! Think positive! What you send out there is what you get back.
It's even better if you do ribbon, and ribbon on a shot that makes YOU happy. That is the way to go imho. Some shoot to please the voters, not themselves. Be true to yourself, as I suspect you already are, and all else will follow. I sense that you will make a splash. Have fun, and good luck!
PS My guess for you is easily top 10, if not top 5. Problem with these threads is, the really heavy hitters sometimes NEVER post their scores...so while I'm patting myself on the back for an entry cruising along at 6.2, someone else may have a 7+ score and keeps mighty quiet about it. Until it's too late, lol!
