Dropped into the 5's overnight, but at this point it could go up again. Or way down...

I'm starting out with a 6.19. Free Studies scare me. The voting is so brutal (typically), so I'm happy with a 6.19 :)

If I ever start moaning about how my score is ONLY in the 6s...shoot me.

You would think freestudies would be easier, since you can choose your best from the prior month. So can the people with 6+ site averages, and people vote more harshly because of it. There are a lot of people who rank the entries using the scale. Myself, I rate them on their own merits, and my freestudy avg vote cast is always very high. I don't think I have given out anything under a 5 in this one yet, and only a couple of them.

I was doing well until someone gave me a 2. sigh, always a critic in the group.

Last 3 votes dropped it by 0.3. I won't whine though until it's below a 6. :P

After reading all your post I decided that it's enough. "He's one man, able to vote, able to write comments if he see fit! Can he fight back all the trolls all by himself???? F NO! But he'll try to be very nice being a free study and all =)"

365 entries, eh? Let's vote a whole year! I'll start voting now... I'll start with 35 entries, and then do another 30 every now and then this week. Quite the workout these free study voting...!

And, of course!

He liked yours better. I got a 1. There's always a tactical voter or three.

Mark Peters ( mpeters) made my week with his comment on mine. I'm completely delighted and could care less about the score now. :-)

Sometimes success is having strong appeal for a narrow group. Damn the torpedoes and full speed ahead!

Just noticed this morning that you now have a 7D. When did you get that bad boy?

ho hum...here is hoping that it improves...

busy doing my voting...then on to the commenting...considering doing a "masked" comment as I was recently told that "I am an inaccurate and an uninformed commenter" (I take it his ego wasn't satisfied) ahhh what the hell..."I am who I am, and by the grace of this site I am learning (or so I think)"

Hmmm - about a month ago or so? Still haven't done the firmware upgrade they have out for it. I do like it - not too big and still takes my beloved 10-22.

That last vote was harsh. It was a 5.4 at 27 votes. Geez I just don't get it. I am technically getting better but always seem to score mediocre. Sometime I wonder why I even bother. I think it is a sickness.

This is going to be a roller coaster. Was below 5 for a while. It seemed to be a 'I hate ____' voting night.

Harsher voters seem to be out now. Down to a 5.7

I feel the same about many of my own entries. Always remember that this is a contest of broad appeal. You can have the most artistic and well done entry, but if it does not have wide ranging appeal, many will still low vote it. I see many photos printed in the magazines, being held up as examples of good photography, that would be lucky to hit a mid 5 on this site.
