Sorry if this idea has already been suggested and rejected, but would it work if everyone on DPC purchased the same piece of white card (e.g. from DPCPrints) which had printed on it a variety of colours, for use in calibrating our monitors?

I thought it would help to flood the screen with pure red, for example, and then adjust the monitor settings until the red matches the card as closely as possible. This method would be a lot cheaper than a calibration kit bought from a shop, and at least then most people on DPC would see roughly the same colours as everyone else. Would that work at all? Just a thought.

how about requiring it in order to vote!
I grow weary of having to edit my shots both in calibrated & uncalibrated monitor settings. It's apin in the arse!
