I too remember the photo but the people who came to mind didn't have it in their portfolio.

I checked Shannon ( scalvert) and Jason ( DrAchoo) profiles...not there. Also looked at DPC Photos/Most Viewed & Most Comments & Highest Rated...didn't see it there either. :-(

With 433 matches in Tineye, good luck stuffing that cat back into the bag.

Thanks!

Not attempting to put that "cata back into the bag" - I knew it'd been out there a bunch of times. I just want to be able to say who took the photo (give credit) to those around me who are seeing this image for the first time.

Is the pix.gif image a new feature of the site? Did I miss something somewhere? When I right click and select view image I get nothing. Tin Eye said the pic was 1x1 pixel and too small to search. I have noticed this on some but not all images on the site recently.

Dang! I'd have been looking for that photo for awhile. Just noticed that it came in 182nd with a score of 6.17. I thought it was a ribbon winner!

Yep. There is now a 1-pixel transparent GIF stretched over images to thwart right-clicking. Your own photos, images in your workshop, and those over 800px (under the user's control) do not have the overlay. People scoffed at the futility of a measure so easily circumvented, but we've already seen tickets from outside users complaining that they can't swipe our photos any more.

Tineye will work on a URL. Just plug in: //www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=274786

It actually took me a little while, too. DPC's Image Search with the keyword "innocence" did the trick. ;-)

the 1x1 pix.gif is a trick used on a lot of PHP/Joomla/Droopal sites using galleries.
Step1 in the right direction!
next step disable Prt Scr, next step...

Yes, there are ways around it. But within two days of Langdon using the overlay, we had TWO tickets from non-dpc users wondering why they couldn't right click and save the photos anymore. So, it won't stop everyone, but it obviously does stop some. I suspect a lot of the casual "theft" that happens will be stopped.

And when the "serious" guys are discovered (remember Faye), it will be obvious that they should have know it was not to be taken and sought out other ways to do so.

So, not a perfect solution, but like you said -- going in the right direction.

I saw that image being used on some website...I assume w/out permission but couldn't remember who took it so, I was unable to link them to the user.

Thank you SC.
It would be fun to see a members only, and locked forum, where SC posts those tickets from outside users.

I was trying through the FF plug-in. Didn't even think of using actual URL.
