Sony 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 E-mount

OK I have 2 comments this week about my photo only being 41k when it would be better to go up to 150k. Help, I am at a total loss. I have basic adobe and MGI photo and I can find nothing in either on this topic.
So who out there can helpe? PLEASE.

The adobe product should allow you to adjust the file size in the save dialog... what 'adobe' program are you using?

You should be able to adjust your jpeg compression when you save the photo. Lower compression yields a higher quality image and a larger file size. I don't have basic adobe so I'm not certain how this would appear in your program. But, there should be some kind of options available in the pop up window when you save. Wander around in there and you'll find it. If the image has already been compressed, saving it at a lower compression won't help...you'll need to start from scratch with your original file.

I only have a basic Adobe Photoshop that came with my computer. I do save my photos and change the format to JPG, but dont know how to adjust.

In the save as dialog box, after you give the photo a file name, the next box should have a 'quality' slider on it that allows you to adjust the compression... I don' thave your version of the software but most adobe product that I have seen work this way....

When you 'save as' and select JPEG/JPG format then OK/Save the next window will probably ask you for Quality select 9/10/11 and you may see somewhere in the window a number followed by a K, chose a number that produces a value that is as close to but mot over 150 K.

Thanks a bunch everyone. I think I have it figured out. I can change to a Maximum setting of 10, but I still dont see a k anywhere!!!!!I'll play around with it some and see what happens.
ALMOST MIDNIGHT, think I have time for a bath before I run back to check the results and see what we are in for next week!

If you have Photoshop Elements, you can adjust the image size by going to the Image menu item, and then to Resize > Image size. Set 72 pixels/inch resolution, then above that, set the image size to 640 x 480 pixels. You might have to change the pull down menu from percent to pixels. Click OK, then go to Menu > Save For Web. On the tabs on top, choose "2 up". Then you can see your original and the web copy. Choose JPEG as the file type (on the right side), then adjust the menu to medium, high, maxium, etc. until the file size under the left side of the picture is at about 140k or so. Click save, and navigate to somewhere you can find the shot when you submit, give it a name, and click OK. Close, but don't save your original photo to preserve it.

If you have Photoshop LE, go to Image > Image size and reduce the size of your photo as in Elements, then go to File > Save As..., rename the file, navigate to where it's to go, select a file type of JPEG, click save, and pick the highese quality. That will give you a small file, but it's better than nothing. Does that help?
