Regarding your comment, Tom ( tph1), yes, the Smena does require patience. The manual focus is a pain. You guess and set the distance to your subject. For anything closer than two meters, it will inevitably be wrong. You have to stop down to f11 or f16 to get enough DOF to be safe. You can set the shutter speed, but 1/250 doesn't feel that fast -- worn springs maybe.

The punchline is that you have to manually cock the shutter, and if your fingers (mine are long) are anywhere near the lens barrel, it will snag them and blur the frame.

I'm bidding on a Vivitar Wide and Slim at the moment.

Anyone hear from Deb?

These are from the disk I got back from the camera place that developed the film for me. I haven't tried scanning the negatives because I don't have a proper scanner for it. May try it anyway! Haven't bought another roll of film yet, but may do that as well. Discovered the focal range starts about five feet out. Have a really amusing self-portrait.... Arm's length is NOT in this camera's repetoire! :-)

I finally got some film developed!
First roll on my new 6x9 Zeiss Ikon...it works like a charme and is much sharper than the Bessa I.

I just got back my latest film - I even paid an extra ¥525 for the CD. I've got to go out again soon, so will upload more later...

New scans of a few photos from this past summer. Taken with a 35mm pinhole camera I made out of a Cheerios box.

starting to miss the instant results of digital! Waiting for my first to films to come back. It's like watching paint dry. Been a week now..... Maybe by the end of December I'll have something to post here!

Of interest - someone has taken a holga underwater and ended up with wonderful things.

Please continue this thread after the month of november - I need to scan everything and then buy my blue shirt again!!!!

Things virtually came to a standstill over the last week or so; I was tempted to just let it peter out. Maybe if we make it a straight FILM side challenge, we'll be able to retain some interest. Thoughts?

I just finished a roll, but I'm going to send it out...that'll be about a week. Maybe continue in this thread and let us use "whatever" film and cam? I've been wanting to use my Mamiya C330 for a while now and I have it loaded up with some slide film, also got some 35mm infrared. I'm also digging Karen's ( krnodil) Polaroid experiments, which will be getting very interesting in a week or so.

:) :) :) RKT is lending me some equipment...but I still might need to slightly modify a camera to use it, which could take some time. So an ongoing thread past Nov 30 would be most welcome.

It could just kind of merge itself into the current film thread, or just be a continual holga/lomo thread. If there were two film threads that could be slightly redundant.
