I psoted a photograph in a recent challenge and a comment was made "a little soft and washed out needs more contrast and saturation" Can this be accomplished in the camera? Using tonal curve dowloads?? Thank you!

To answer this, we would need to know how your camera is currently set. If it's set to factory default, the odds are it is soft. Nikon doesn't by default apply much in camera sharpening to their images out of the box.

Show us what you're setup as, and we'll try to help.

As is out of the camera factory settings. The photographs are very good however when I use autolevel in photoshop the results are amaizing! If I could accomplish this inside the camera I would be more than pleased.
Thanks,

Although you can probably compensate for this in-camera, you will be better off doing it in post-processing, where you have control of the process. The camera has to use relatively simple algorithms due to the need for very fast processing with limited processor power. Your PC and associated software will provide a much more controllable and higher quality environment for both sharpening and color correction.
