Yes, it means that I rated this challenge by 0.4 higher than my Avg vote cast, because there are more fine entries than usual.

It also means that I use the full voting range, from 1 (not recognizable as a photo) to 10 (exceptionally). I don't fear "hurting my voting average" as a lot of people here do, I stand to my opinion.

And it means that I have given an average vote in this challenge, that is quite close to the alltime average vote given here at DPC (approx. 5.2).

Now back to your regular manhunt.

I got hit by -0.1347 over the weekend :( which means a lot of 1's and 2's or tactical adjustments.
I actually revisited my scores given and chose my only 10, 9 and 8 and bumped a lot of 5's to 6 and 6's to 7 where I had time to fully study each image far more than the speed vote I did at the beginning of the voting.

Is it just me, or is this one of the best challenges you've seen? I'm reasonably happy with my score (just above 6), but people seem to have outdone themselves with this challenge.

On average the standard is pretty high, I must agree. There are a few stunners. I did not do any research on triptych before I entered the challenge, but for me the best ones were the ones that told a story. There are some really well thought out concepts. Well done guys.

Just this week. Next week it can be your turn to decide. :-)

It is a good point, though. The lot probably isn't deserving of the average I gave either - mine is too high. So it all balances out in the end.

denbote - It is YOUR opinion on the entries and what are the appropriate scores. GREAT!!! Score it that way. But everyone has a different opinion, and you cannot force your opinion on anyone else, let alone everyone else. There are many voters that score hard and I appreciate that, just as long as they are true to themselves and to the entries. I am very confident that eyewave and many many others are doing so with fairness.

Got a question for you as it relates to this: Which teachers did you learn most from? Those that score fair but hard or those that score easy? Personally, those that are hard to please but are fair about it make me work harder to improve.

We all get a vote for a reason and there is a distribution of votes for a reason....

If you are addicted to this place and the update button (available to members) you can 'calculate' what the votes are. The update button does not actually SHOW the votes, just the score change - you have to do the math yourself....

Go to HawkeyeLonewolf's page and download his DP Challenge Vote Tracker
It's only useful for Registered Members who have an update button that they can use at anytime. The rest of us Registered Users only get score updates every hour.

To me, there was one entry that just totally stood out as being incredibly awesome. I can't wait for the challenge to finish to see whose it is. For whatever reason, I found myself voting higher than usual in this challenge. I liked the thought, cohesiveness, and craftsmanship that so many put into their images. Also, I think it was a nice change to not have just one shot to focus on, but more of a thought to consider.

HA! Got you beat. I've dropped from 6.23, to 6.07! (still about 1.08 higher than I expected)

Edit - currently at 6.076. In Triptych II my final score was 6.087. It'll be interesting to see how close they finish to one another.

eyewave and prperold - If your vote totals are correct - you gave me enough info to do the math. You are roughly at 6.80 and 6.733. You got me beat....
