Does anyone know anything about Zeiss Ikon? I was recently given this camera and I need to find out some information on it...It was my Dad's camera from about 1960...totally manual - it says Contessamat SBE on the top also S Matic. On the lens it says Tessar 2.8/5.0 3642394 Carl Zeiss. On the outside of the lens in the front is has Prontor-Matic 500 SL. This is the camera that my Dad used for slides when I was growing up. I would like to find a manual on it if I could...I'm sure it will need to be serviced??? Thanks

Google it and you'll find a PDF manual... like this one...

If you have any troubles using it, I'd be more than happy to take it off your hands...

obviously I don't have a clue as to what I have....I'm reading but still not sure...guess I will have to get some film to go exploring...I think there is a roll still in the camera...not sure yet. I will have to download the manual so I can figure out how to use it...it does have a fixed lens I think...

this is the camera I have

zeiss lenses are regarded very highly.
I think your lense should be m mount lense, if it is so, you might be able to use it on micro 4/3 cams with adapter.

i am not sure if you can adapt it on nikon mount, but if you can do it, i think adapter would be worth the effort.

Boy that would be wonderful...but according to the link it is a fixed lens...I can't see where I can take it off. I think I will have to use this as a separate camera...I used to one for B&W pictures a long time ago, so maybe this is what I can use it for...I'm just not sure how to use the lens settings yet...working on trying to find a user's manual...thought I found one last night...but I was wrong.

I had found some listed on E-Bay for $9.99 to $20.00 each. Probably not as "special" because of the fixed lens. But it still has the sentimental value that it was my Dad's. I plan on playing with it and learning about the functions...I will say it's a "solid little camera".
