I may be the only one interested, but I am interested in how many folks decide to "watch" a thread and how many decide to "ignore" it. How about a counter that tallies these decisions for each thread.
High watched count means lots of folks with a longer term interest. High ignored count ... well you can do the math.
If you disagree - feel free to ignore this thread. |

Since there IS no stat for this, how can it be "anonymous"? And how would a counter like the "times viewed" one we already have be a threat to individual anonymity, anyway?

I was thinking along the lines that if this were to be implemented, that I'd personally want them to be anonymous. I just think that someone, somewhere is going to get upset if they see that their thread is ignored by X number of people, especially if they can see who's ignoring it and they particularally like those people. |

If something like this was implemented (and I'm not sure it's worth the time, since i don't think the watch/ignore features are used all that much), I'm sure we wouldn't reveal anything more than aggregate totals.

I've thought this would be a fun statistic to have also, and wouldn't be that hard to implement (easy to say as the one that doesn't have to code it). :-) |
