I enjoyed that immensely. Thank you. I almost forgot how talented he was at arranging voices. There's a disk called Spaceship Lullaby of some of his 1950's vocal groups that I really like. Very raw and unrehearsed, but I like it for that reason.

Today's listening: Jackie McLean - Let Freedom Ring

You listen to Satch, Waddy? I was just listening to Engines of Creation today. I've been listening to Satriani for years... good stuff.

Jose Feliciano has been jamming with my son Robert's band, and I have been listening to their jam recordings the last couple of days. Jose has style and class.
I like a lot of different styles of music, because I played drums for a living for about 20 years.

Wel ctually right now I am on a Blues kick....not just any blues but the OLD black mans blues. Muddy Waters, Clarence "gatemouth" Brown, John lee Hooker, and Willie Dixon. The list goes on but you get the clue.

Spirit Flutes by David A. Maracle of the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory.

This gentleman has quite a collection of music that would appeal to those interested in native north american music.

NPR's ALL SONGS CONSIDERED is a pretty great podcast to check out some new tunes. Pretty ecletic mix on there.

Anyone who's followed my sp's knows I looooove Blue October. And hey, Justin furstenfeld(the singer) is hot as f$%K, that doesn't hurt either. I'm obsessed with this song. DIRT ROOM

Machine Head- The Blackening

6/10

Everyone said this was the best thing since Master of Puppets... it really isn't. It sounds like Machine Head being Machine Head and a lot of the songs follow the same formula and get quickly tiring. The drumming is great (it always was) and the guitar work is a bit more inventive and thoughtful than it usually is on a Machine Head cd but overall it's a bit disappointing.

I'm going to trade it in for Mastodon :)
