Hey guys,

its nice looking, might want to have an active state for the buttons that activate the images. EDIT: it also says 'click here' when you dont need to click... /EDIT

Lori, I went through your web site yesterday in some detail and I have to say I am impressed, and you are a very talented photographer. I like the general appearance of the web site but I did find the navigation between pix a little confusing until I figured it out (as stated above). I also like the neutral mid-grey (18%?) color to be very professional looking and also gives a hint to the kind of photographer you are (creative and artsy).
As for the photographs that you've displayed there I like most. I think you are very creative in your compositions and toning. I especially like the opening picture under weddings with the reclining couple and the woman has a devilish look on her face while looking into the cam. I also liked very much "shoes," the two women hugging (really liked your angle of view there), the group photo and the photo with yet another couple in a reclining position and the bride smiling into the camera. All, really very well done and they have a classic look to them. From the "things" category, I really liked the cat picture, and from the people category, my favorite picture from all of them was the woman with a pinstriped blouse/sleeve showing while she is reclining. That is an awesome picture. Very well done.
I have heard that hard lighting is "in" these days for wedding shots, and I've seen that you use it extensively in your wedding pics. I happen to like that look very much, but I'm wondering if your clients appreciate it as much as I do. It does make some skin tones washed out and without detail in some shots and gives very high contrast. Not sure if all wedding clients like that.

I agree with the people above that if your navigation says "Click Here" you should have to click the buttons not just mouseover them. I took a look at your source and all you need to do is change your "onMouseOver" event handler to "onClick" and that will fix the issue. With a few other changes you could add some extra JS to the buttons to change them to a different color when you click so the viewer will know which button they just clicked on.
Other than that things look good. It works in Firefox so it will most likely work in other Mozilla/Netscape browsers.

It's a professionally done site and I know about the 'click here' but it takes a while to get pro stuff changed for free since I can't access or change it myself [and wouldn't know how - I had the site done as a favor for free]. We had originally wanted to click then changed it to a rollover, it'll be changed when they put up new photos for me.
Thanks for the compliments on the photos, as for the lighting, no complaints...clients like what they like for no real reason, if they like my past work then I get hired, I will only stay true to my own goals by doing styles I like..I never change my methods for money [ie a client]. However, all clients are encouraged to be creative and give ideas as well as choose the amount of black/white or color photos they want in the end. I'm flexible without changing my artistic or creative ethics :-) I've gotten posts in the past telling me good luck being poor since it's all about the client, I'd like to say on the record that statement is false...and the washed out effect is intentional.
