Heya, I'm new round here and my name is Indoctrine... or Beck, whichever you want to call me. I'm 18 years old, I live in Australia on the NSW Central Coast, I was introduced to this site by my boyfriend who loves looking at all the photos.

I take photos in my spare time and try to explain how it all works to the clueless boyfriend! Hehe, I love reading, puzzles, internet, IRC and pulling things apart.

My gear is as follows:
Pentax K-7
18-55mm Pentax kit lens.
70-300mm Tamron telemacro lens.
85-205 Vivitar (I think) telephoto lens. (Manual)
Vivitar macro teleconverter 2x. (Manual)

I'm thinking of buying more lenses further down the track but for now I have a fairly wide range, I think. :)

SOOOO howdy and I hope I make some great friends. :D

Welcome to DPC! I noticed there has been no entries with the K-7, meaning whenever you enter a challenge that photo will be displayed as "highest rated photograph" taken with the K-7. That's cool! Once again welcome, looking forward to some photos from you =)

Hey another Aussie....wahooo...welcome! Learn heaps and stay away from the riff-raff!
09/02/2009 06:57:34 AM · #4
Really? That's awesome! :D I have entered the Lines III competition, I'm hoping I do okay! The K-7 is relatively new anyway, I was going to be buying a K20D but Pentax have stopped producing them in large amounts! :( Oh well, I get high resolution video recording, hehe.

Hey Judi, I'll make sure to. ;)

Why would you tell a fellow Aussie to stay away from yourself? Riffy....

The riff-raff are the fun ones!

Welcome, I'm just down the road from you in Sydney. It's great fun here, and good to see you got involved in the challenges straight away. Take a look at the side challenges too, they're also a great way to show off your stuff and learn a bit or two in the process!

I'll have a lookie at the side challenges. I'm trying to get back into the swing of photography because I've been without a camera for 6 months since my Canon IXUS 70 gave up... its not been easy.

That's probably for the best, for the time being. The longer you spend here the more you become one of the crazies, so although resistance is futile, it'll slow the onset.
In the meantime, welcome to the madhouse and don't ever be afraid to ask a question.

I'm not afraid of the crazies, I've visited a real madhouse before. :P

I'd love to learn how people set up some of their shots, but I don't know if I'd be up to setting up elaborate things... maybe starting small with some suggestions would help? :)

Greetings from the Land Up Over...

(If you're down under, we must be up over ;-)

Try not to take any of this too seriously. You can learn a lot here, so I'm told. (So far I'm immune.) Just remember to have fun.

There are plenty of really great people here.

That just about covers the main contenders:)

Welcome to DPC, you will learn a lot, ignore a lot and laugh a lot here. Just take things with a pinch of salt. Enjoy your photography and tell us how that K7 performs, up until a couple of months ago I was a Pentax user, having owned the K100D, K200D and the K20D.

Hi Beck. I am Art. I like long walks on the beach, sitting around the campfire and I am into both flora and fauna.

I hope you enjoy your time here. ... ...Beck? ...are you still here?

Long walks on the beach? Sitting 'round the campfire (more like starting fires). I'm surprised you've somehow kept the word WOODY out of your description! HA!
Hey, Beck...........Art comes across as innocent, but he's really Godzilla in disguise!! Welcome to our dysfunctional little family. You will come to love us! Now, 'bout that UPDATE button...
