Some really nice ones and lots of sub-par ones, but I'm trying to be thoughtful and really look at each one. I've made more comments than usual too. I have quite a way to go. I've given one 9 and 3 8's so far. Quite a few 7's and tons of 5's and 6's. I have given one 2 (which I rarely do) and mostly 4's if I find it below average. I've commented on ones I found good, mediocre and not so good. I hope my remarks are received favorably. :~)

I am pretty sure if Ansel Adams and Peter Lik combined forces for a photo shoot and spent a whole year on a photo they'd get a 6.3 on this site. I don't get why everyone bashes everything... why not just give everything from 3s to 10's bt RARELY on the 9s and 10s.... it's really making me not even want to be on the site any more although I love the challenges....but I DO love the comments (both good and bad) and find them very useful and almost always apreciate them.... anyway, here's mine...

Well, most would probably agree that at a certain point, the contest is more about wow factor and popular appeal than simply what is "good photography". |

I don't stress on the numerical score, the ranking is the real teller in my opinion. It tends to be pretty good IMHO at showing the appeal of a shot to the wider audience.

Still dropping.
I know a few people are a little frustrated at their score this month (me too!) and I have thought in the last few challenges that 'eye-candy' images seem to be the order of the day. So, I've just started a bit of a comment quest - I'm picking out all of the images which offer something a little different and I'm going to offer a long comment and a score on each. I am looking for the obtuse and the eclectic and I will be spending a long time examining and commenting on each. I'll be voting too - I won't promise to score high just because the image is different and I will give out low scores where I really feel I can't go any higher but I will promise I'll be looking with a fair eye and to ensure that those who have offered something different this month will get my fullest consideration before I offer my score. |

Yikes! I'm on vacation and had to edit my entry on my hubby's new lapstop. I'm guessing that wasn't a good idea. I've only gotten one comment that said it was too dark, and my score is a whopping 5.2. That's okay tho. It really is a cool photo and when I get home, I'll make the adjustments and love it whether anyone else does or not :)
