I'm going to try this a second time since I lost my first attempt (Beware the red X at the top right corner of this window)
A friend introduced me to DPC a couple weeks ago and I quickly became Addicted Obsessed. So I registered.... sat out of a couple challenges and then jumped in on the rule of thirds...... Now I'm even more obsessed and am going to sign up as a full fledged member......
Anyhow, I'm Adrian, 29 From Spencerport, NY (Rochester, NY area) I've been into photography for quite some time now, But am only just REALLY getting into it. I've had a Nikon d40 for a couple years am am just getting really comfortable with the various settings and use of the camera. I still have quite a bit of learning to do, but I am having a blast doing it. This has quickly become my favorite (although expensive) hobby. I'm looking forward to learning from everyone, Participating in some more challenges and seeing some great photography that I can only dream about producing.

Welcome aboard, Adrian. I'm not too far down the road from you (Ithaca). Have fun and enjoy.
Oh, and here's the obligatory watch out for Art and Slippy warning -- they're mostly harmless :-) |

you'll be surprised at how quickly you pick up new things around here. i know for me, i've improved immensely in the time i've been active at dpc. best of look to you, i'm looking forward to seeing your photos
also, when you become a member you get access to the update button, which for someone with an obsessive personality is both a blessing and a curse ;) |

| Welcome! You already halfway to do what I did. Signed up, after little time became a full member, then after a short time I bought a D300. That's the way to go! Welcome =) |
