Some great stuff here. I have been out of town working in Sioux Falls South Dakota and haven't been able to shoot much. Will catch up soon!

I'll throw this one out there again; it has some subtle humor that you probably won't see in the thumb.

[rudely interupts] You brought back pictures, right?

Camera set to fixed focus (it won't shoot if it can't find a focus point on AF, which is really annoying), and a shutter speed/aperture/ISO combination which would allow a longish shutter speed. Shot whilst holding the camera in front of me and walking along. This is a lovely wooded path - the trees arch completely overhead. To the left is the road, to the right, the park.

Again with the camera set to a fixed focus (somewhere beyond this group, by the way) and exposure so that the shutter speed will be longish, and shot while walking along. This time I was amidst a very large group of teenagers who had just come from somewhere and were spilling out into a pedestrian walkway. Teenagers are quite colorful and make good subjects for this sort of thing.

Okay, I've got stuff queued up now. I'm probably getting carried away! I've got to say this is the most fun I've had with a side challenge in some time. Thanks all for the comments, and for sticking with the spirit of the challenge, trying new and intereting things. I'm seeing some great stuff...

Tom referenced one I have posted at flickr so I posted it over here, too. Originally shot this for a challenge at the time but forgot to enter it. Too bad, since it would have tanked quite nicely!

Not sure this pair is serendipitous except insofar as they may be telling me to back off for my own good!

Hi, I don't mean to intrude, as I'm not "officially enrolled", but I'm finding this too fun, enlightening and liberating! So, if you guys don't mind me sharing some stuff here occasionally...

Guys,

Sorry for being MIA - I just simply can't get to my camera that the minute - it's BRAND NEW and I have barely touched it, let alone loaded the software onto my PC.

Hope to stop by and comment - but life is CRAZY down here for me right now.

Happy to see you all together again.

hey no worries, Lisa. Having that brand new camera just sitting there would drive me nuts! : )
Congratulations by the way. Thanks for droppin' by and and letting us know. It's nice just to hear from you! : )

OK. I am double dipping here. I had posted this to the ongoing film thread yesterday but I am a little light on photos. What I like about this is that it is color film developed in b&w chemicals (again). This is almost a straight scan with no adjustments. The colors come from somewhere but I don't know how or why. Perhaps just the scanner light's reflection on the orange negative? I've been doing more of this color in b&w stuff and the color cast always seems to be different. From just grays to light greens and darker oranges. I usually play with the colors a bit after the fact but not here.
