I know that I will get alot out of this...but I am not real sure as I use Elements 7 not PS...but this just might push me over the edge???? In the other class that I have taken recently I had my computer there to sort of follow along with what they were talking about...but this time there are no power supplies so I can take my computer...oh, well...this should be fun and ' . substr('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21_F.gif', strrpos('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21_F.gif', '/') + 1) . ' Tammster will be the "first DPC'r" that I will get to meet in person...

For others, like myself, who think navigating Scott's Blog is like trying to teach yourself dentistry on your own mouth (I have no idea where that analogy just came from -- what I mean is his blog is organized like crap)...

Here is what they are talking about. I assume. I just dug through his posts until I found something that looks like what you mentioned. ;)

I have watched quite a few of the courses on kelbytraining.com and they are generally easy to watch; I rarely have my photoshop at the same time (I like to do them on my lunchbreak at work) so I take notes if I see something cool.

Janine, I used Elements for years and honestly, you're going to be shocked at how similar it is. Of course there are a lot of fancier ways to do things but a LOT of the concepts (like layers) will be the same. AND, you'll have me there to tell you when something is different.

I have an early edition of that book, awesome tricks inside for when you get bored of books that only show how to correct red eyes

well worth it! ' . substr('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21_F.gif', strrpos('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21_F.gif', '/') + 1) . ' lindalee and i went to one about 4 years ago and it put me light-years ahead of what i was doing on my own.

be sure to take a credit card, though, because there will be a ton of stuff to buy ;-)

one thing that linda and i both bought into was a 'national association of photoshop professionals' membership. it seemed pricey, but the mag was great and the free shipping from b&h made the membership pay for itself in no time.

have fun!

Well I had a blast meeting ' . substr('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21_F.gif', strrpos('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21_F.gif', '/') + 1) . ' Tammster and ' . substr('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/31_F.gif', strrpos('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/31_F.gif', '/') + 1) . ' showoffgraphics, we had a good time...it was very informative for me (remember I have PS Elements 7) but both Tammy and Dina have Photoshop...loads of really cool stuff...sooner or later (later) I will be making the leap to CS4....Scott Kelby is really a great speaker and is easy to follow with his instructions...this was well worth going to especially if you have the PS program...I will say it was a bit more geared for graphic artist...but I still got alot out of the class...here is the link for the information on the class...ck it out...Link

What a great time!!! I highly recommend it for anyone on this site. Even if you don't even have the software, it's amazing to see what is possible... and sometimes the "tricks" are SO quick!

' . substr('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21_F.gif', strrpos('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21_F.gif', '/') + 1) . ' JA-9... it was SO NICE to meet you. We only live 3 hours apart but I'm sure we'll find opportunity to hang out again soon; hopefully we'll both have our camera in our hands next time.

I just signed up for the Houston show. I'm really looking forward to it . . . I'm always looking for shortcuts that will help me improve my shooting to processing time ratio!

I'll be there with Jaime. Anyone else going?
