Basically, what I'm trying to do is add a watermark to all the pictures I upload to smugmug and flickr.

I followed some tutorials I found online that pertain to the identity plate and got my watermark looking really cool. The problem is that it only works when printing. Is there a way to add the identity plate watermark when I export?

Try Jeffrey Friedl's "Export to Smugmug Plugin."

//regex.info/blog/lightroom-goodies/

I'm at work right now, so I can't check, but I think you can add an image as a watermark as you export. I just have it set to add my name.

He also has plugins for Flickr and other sites.

This is one of several places where LR sort-of falls on it's face... But luckily, several plugin authors have come to the rescue.

The best "water-marker" I've found (and it offers even more flexibility -- some of which (borders, matching quality-to-size, etc.) is VERY useful here at DPC) is:

LR2/Mogrify from Timothy Armes.

He has a number of other very useful plugins also.

Can't seem to find any troubleshooting info for this. I keep getting the same error when I try to export.

Thanks,

Downloaded LR2/Mogrify and it works great. I found it earlier while googling, but I thought you had to pay for it.

Mogrify failed to run bla bla bla. Something to do with side-by-side configuration being incorrect. From what I could find, it's the 64 bit version that doesn't work in some instances (not specified what instances do work). Only answer so far is to install the 32 bit version of ImageMagick.

32bit version of ImageMagick works like a charm.

Playing with percentages so border and sig are auto sized.

Yup, it's good stuff. I use several of his plugins, and I've paid something for each (it's essentially a pay-what-you-can system), as I found them more useful than most other software I've ever had to pay for. ;) There are some limitations with the free version (I believe the number of files you can export at one time is limited, for example) -- but aside from that, it's not crippled at all.

Yeah, the recently-added ability to specify several of the elements based on percentage is a AWESOME help. I started this thread a while ago when the new version came out, with a few other ideas mentioned.

Is there a minimum donation to download mogrify? Could I literally give a dollar and get a serial #? Not asking cause i'm cheap, but because money is real tight right now.

Nope, not that I know of -- pay what you can. Sometimes the conversion rate (dollars to pounds) might work in your favor... or not... ;)

You could always make a "make up" contribution later on if money is tight now. Obviously, I'd encourage you to pay the most you can, though -- it's great software -- I thinks it's fair to pay about what you'd expect to shell out for any commercial product that does the same thing (although... well, there's not one that does precisely the same thing, so I guess you have to do some guesswork there...) ;)

ETA - Remember, too -- the software you download (without a serial #) is fully functional; it only has a limitation on how many photos you can process in one batch. Purchasing the serial # simply removes that limitation.

It seems the minimum you can donate is 2 pounds sterling or $3.33 US.

Unless you need to process more than 10 images on a regular basis, why not use the program without donating until you're back on your feet financially then donate.
