I'm designing an online ad for a 2-day photography event the charity I work for runs (WildPhotos), but it's for a French website. A couple of our staff speak good French, but not as a first language, so I was wondering if someone here could just check it? We think the words are correct but aren't sure on the turns of phrase etc, so any help would be greatly appreciated - thanks!
Also, if anyone wants to buy a ticket, feel free ;)
I was at the event last year and it was really interesting!

I think it should be "Photographie Naturelle".
BTW, the apostrophe before 09 is upside down. |

"Découvrez la puissance de la photographie naturelle"
Découvrant means "While you are discovering...". It's less flexible in French, you kind of miss the rest of the sentence. "Découvrez" means discover, that should be fine. |

Ben,
What English sentence were you looking to recreate in French on the brochure. That would give better context to see if the proper verbe tense of "découvrir" is being used.
Also, are you showcasing shots of nature (nature) or natural (naturel - naturelle) shots?

Well our strapline is "Exploring the Power of Nature Photography" but we didn't know if exploring would literally translate well into French, so we went with "Discover/Discovering the Power of Nature Photography". We don't mind if it's not exactly the same as the English, as long as it fits nicely into the space and sounds good to French speakers :)
The event is about shots of nature - bird, insects, landscapes, wildlife etc.

I think it's fine the way it is. I would keep "DÉCOUVRANT" rather than "DÉCOUVREZ".
DÉCOUVREZ is DISCOVER. DÉCOUVRANT is DISCOVERING.

All true, but the literal translation does not work here, it just sounds wrong.
ETA: It would work if you are considering that "Wild Photos" is starting a sentence. Maybe it's what you mean. But the change in language and the graphical layout do not concur with this point of view.

I would translate it as: Découvrez/Explorez la puissance de la photographie de la nature
Naturelle would be mostly used as an adjective as is Natural green tea and not as in the nature (as wildlife/landscapes/fauna) |

You are right, your version is more accurate. 'Photographie naturelle' could even mean something like pictures taken by naked photographers ;-)
But I do not like the fact that you have to use 2x "de la", therefore I went for the poetic version from  eyewave |

But the term "Photographie naturelle" is regularly used to describe "Photos of Nature". Google it. |

Ok, the replace "Découvrant" with "À la découverte"
À la découverte de la puissance de la photo nature.
If you a search under "photographie nature" in Google using French as the search engine language, you'll see that this term is used. There is no use in stretching out the French verson even more by adding the second de la.
If it were up to me it would read "À la découverte de la photo nature" or simply "La puissance de la photo nature".

Doesn't Naturelle mean natural? This is in reference to Nature.

Yes it does. 'photographie naturelle' is 100% equivalent with 'natural photography'. It could mean other things, but it seems to be the accepted term in French.
'Nature Photography' translates 'photographie de la nature'. It's the same than 'Photography of nature', unfortunately you cannot swap the nouns in French.
'Photographie nature' is as wrong as 'photography nature' would be in English. Google does not care for grammar.
ETA: Some explanations.... Now you know how lucky you are to speak English. And why I do not take pictures in French ;-)
