Thanks for the heads up. I may drive about 25 miles and see if it is visible over the big lake again. It's about time to get going if I am going. If it is visible from there, I will be posting photos here.

They were talking about possible weather concerns again... hopefully it'll be a go for liftoff!

I know. It's been about a month or so since the first scheduled liftoff; I think.

I hope some DPC members are able to get some good photos of the launch.

It's raining here at the house and the sirens just went off on the golf course, may be a bit of a push for them to launch tonight.

Everyone is back on board, getting ready to close the door.

On a side another note Mission Specialists Christopher Cassidy is a cousin of a good friend of mine. They had front row seats for the first launch and the entire family came down to watch.

Watch it live

Seems the guys from NASA haven't got a grasp on afternoon summer weather in Florida.

I was thinking the same thing! There is almost always a chance of thunderstorms in the late afternoon in Florida! There must be some kind of 'window' they have to launch through.

From spaceflightnow.com

The launch window for STS-127 is 10 minutes long, centered on the moment when Earth's rotation carries the pad into the plane of the space station's orbit. To optimize ascent performance, NASA targets the "in-plane" time.

I'll be sure to let my father-in-law (A.K.A. the Weather Office Chief at the Kennedy Space Center) know that. ;)

It`s a Go for Launch.

I couldn't see it from here. I climbed to the top of a tower on a silo with camera and monopod with the 300mm lens, but there was a rain between here and there.
I am happy that they finally got it off the ground.
