at least I have a comment or two... that's a plus... usually i gotta wait till day 2 to get a comment...

and I am loving some of the pics in this challenge! they're verrryyy creative! (I'm pumped about this challenge kuz i actually 'like' my pic and submitted it to the judgment and critique etc--& am letting myself go on this one...i dunno i think its one of my better pics..! )

mmm i noticed something similar but I am mostly going to vote on creativity/ and beauty of the overall image methinks..and use the challenge as a light guideline (maybe knock 1 point or 2 off for not being 'above') will vote more tomorrow but I know which ones i like the best already... ;)

In cases where there's a subjective requirement of the topic, I usually just leave a comment and score it giving them the benefit of the doubt (high contrast for example).

But in this case, the challenge details are pretty clear cut: "Photograph any subject from a vantage point above it."

If the viewpoint is at the same level as the subject, then to me, it has not met the challenge requirements.

Make that two people... b/c I'm of the same opinion... but iin that, I do tend to vote on the quality of the photo itself (ignoring the theme) and then bump it down depending on it's score and how badly it DNMC.

Anyway... my photo continues its fall...

At present I am trying to unsubmit my image... been hammered by the DNMC opinion and I really don't want to spend the next week looking at this score and the comments. I DID read the challenge criteria carefully. In fact I set out with exactly an idea in mind and worked hard to get a clean image... as opposed to going about with my camera and looking for a suitable subject.

"Photograph any subject from a vantage point above it"

The ambiguity of the topic set me to placing my SUBJECT at the vantage point ABOVE IT. I am on the same level as my subject however...

Just goes to show that in art and creativity the possibility of interpretation and response is WIDE OPEN!!!

Back to trying to unsubmit.
