I'm just wondering if anyone has used a non sine wave inverter with there strobes? I have a number of alien bee strobes and the outlook alien bee use's is one to try to scare me into buying there equipment. When I have a strong feeling that the dirty power form a non sine wave inverter will work wonderfully. If anyone has any past experience with this scenario please let me know.

I have used a plain generator with my strobes and no problem! You can use an expensive power bar that "cleans" the power coming from it, but just last night we used a plain ol' extension cord with three plugs on the end.

**The preceeding was from my own experience. Results may vary depending on equipment used. I will not be held responsible for any damage caused by any info taken here and used in the same manner...it,or otherwise,to and from, he she, it.....

and all the rest of the legal jargon**(Don't blame me)

Hope this helps

Well I went and did a test for myself. So my 400 watt per second Alien bee didn't work with my 600 watt non Sine Wave inverter.

Thanks LVicari

Did the strobe fry on you?

If I read your last post correctly you said 600w inverter? That definitely is not enough power. Is this a cigarette plug in thing. If so Not enough power Scotty!

You need more juice.
