A low score isn't indicative of problems that need to be fixed. You of all people should know that. :)

No, but it seems to be by most people's standards.
ETA: and I assumed that was what your post was about. I'll shut up now.

49 votes, and sitting at 5.0 even with one comment.
06/24/2009 01:20:50 PM · #34
started off in low 4s and have climbed to low 5s today. that hardly ever happens -- usually goes the other way!

I too am at 4.97 with no comment telling me whats wrong. I know my snap does not have the WOW factor but there has to be something wrong in addition to it, to get such a low score.

Went to bed last night with a high 4.8 feeling happy and optomistic, I am now at a 4.4. This is my third challenge, and so far I've been consistant in the scores. I think I'd pass out if I got above a 5!
What bothers me more is that over 70 people have scored my picture, and not a single comment. Come on people, comment on those you score low not just those you like.

Pretty much my lowest score ever. I don't understand the voting on this. Someone even asked for a validation. How can my image at this score be so threatening that it needs to be validated??? What a joke. I suppose anyone who has a bug up their butt can just ask at will to have images validated? Is that how it works?

Any one can ask but Site Council makes the call whether to do more digging if they think that your edits might have been outside of the rules for the challenge.

eta: There's also no link between the score and whether you get a validation request or not. High score, low score , or otherwise, when SC comes a calling you better be ready with your original and the editing steps you took.

eta2: Though people aren't supposed to vote down an image they believe is outside of the editing rules it does happen.

sorry, oscar, my comment only makes sense if you see my picture. I can't believe it's scoring that high and not getting any negative comments (or any comments at all).

happy, but weird.

My thought on the image being challenged for legality was based on someone thinking it might be a threat to their own entry. Of course nobody knows how an image is being voted when they are viewing during the voting. My entry is nothing special. None of my entries are anything special! LOL I just find it amusing and frustrating at the same time considering how poorly the image is scoring and now I have to prove that I didn't violate any rules. Like adding insult to injury.

I assume that a lot of questioning is because people have no idea how they could do it themselves. I questioned one shot earlier on (when I just started), because I didn't know how someone could selectively desaturate everything but a pair of pants on a clothes-line in basic editing. I found out there's a lot I didn't know when it came to editing.
