Mine's dropping fast now, hopefully the bottom's hit soon. I'm still very happy with the score though. I've been getting a few 4.x or very low 5's lately

Hard to go from a blue ribbon last week, to two challenges that are at 5.1 this week. I could have waited a little longer for reality to sink in! :D |

Just to give a glimmer of hope to those out there who feel their scores are suffering an unjust fate:
You have rated 85 of 253 images (34%) in this challenge.
You have commented on 2 images (1%) in this challenge.
You have given an average score of 6.8941.
...and I ain't done voting yet. This average score might go down a little bit but by and large I thought that the submissions in this challenge were all really well done and I'll be voting accordingly. |

Seriously... I wish something could be done to prevent idiots from voting 1, 2, 3, even 4, on pictures that are at least 5+. How about you can't vote 1, 2 or 3 without writing a comment? If the comment is bad, then at least we know who it is and can discuss whether or not he/she are allowed to vote or even be a member!
Behold this picture! I recall andrewt said something about being above 8, and maybe would've scored over 8 hadn't there been a knucklehead giving it a 2. A photo like that is never 2, even if the challenge is Female Fashion it wouldn't have been a 2 even though it's extremely DNMC. Point is, IS THERE POSSIBLE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT???? I'm kinda ticked off so I better end my post with this...

i don't think there is any hope whatsoever with already 39 that leave me at a 4.6 i'd be lucky if it gets to a 4.8 at this rate-
it really makes me think on the fact I wasted money to rejoin $ i really shouldn't have spent |

for your 5.3
no if it was fixable I'm sure it would have been resolved eons ago its just a fact that ppl like to go threw and vote down other entries when they're in the challenge to bring their own up - not all of course but there are some who do and its sad. I"m not voting in this challenge -

I agree, but there is nothing that can be done. They are permitted to express their opinion as a low vote without explanation. Perhaps they feel it is obviously rubbish and a comment is unnecessary. I think one of our members wiht programming skills is working on a javscript application that will deliver a mild shock for a vote of 3 or less that has a blank comment box.
If they don't pummel me again, I may make dead mediocre about lunchtime.

Stats: You have rated 38 of 253 images (15%) in this challenge.
You have commented on 10 images (4%) in this challenge.
You have given an average score of 7.1579.
Don't forget! You must vote on at least 20% of the photographs for your votes to be counted.
So I'm not done voting, yet...if you want to make a difference in the scores...then I say get out there and vote...take back the control from the trolls...we know how to vote on a picture

As one of the people who has encouraged you to comment, I deserve whatever comes my way! I will say you are always polite but direct when explaining why you do or do not like an entry. That's a good thing.

this is to funny...I rarely will vote below 5 now...I feel that if you entered and you meet the challenge you get a 6 right off the bat...so I have raised my voting bar of late...hopefully this will avoid the "3 vote stimulus package" ha ha |

I think a duotone really has to enhance the image. Many of these do and quite a few don't. It's an interesting mix. I've given out quite a few 7's and up :~)

SOrry, but had that picture been in "Female Fashion" it would have rightly deserved a 1 (from me and others here). It's a great photo, but if it fails to meet the challenge (and not in a way that is subjective, but in your own example quite objective), then it fails to earn the right to be judged on the photo merits -- entered in a free study or birds or other relevant challenge it should be expected to score higher.

I think every tenth "post your scores" threads have this discussion, won't start it again =) You must vote on 20% of the pictures for your votes to be valid, how about something similar with commenting? You must vote on 10% of the pictures for your votes to be valid. At least there's a greater chance to get some comments. So don't get me wrong, I'm just as curious to why people like my pictures as why they don't. But you very rearly get anything more than your average score and one or two good comments. |
