I have a feeling that this will be a very low scoring challenge. (that is what I am telling myself to make me feel better)

Sounds like a good theory. I thought I had a high 5 easily, but just staying above the 5 1/2 mark now.

It's been dropping this morning (but no complaints)...

Mine dropped a little but I'm still happy. It is up from when I posted last.

Someone sure had a change of heart. I dropped by from 5.52 to 5.40 with no change in votes. That's a change of -5 on one persons vote. And the helpful checkbox cleared on a positive comment. Would be nice to know what changed their mind.

I knew, I knew, I knew I shouldn't have entered a photo that I was so emotionally involved in. I thought that some people might not find it unusual enough, but I didn't think I'd get slammed so badly.

If you go to challenge history and scroll through results in the 5.0 to 5.3 range, you'll find a mixture that includes quite a few outstanding images. (My recent entry in "Miniature", which was probably the most miniature of the entries, had a number of very good comments yet ended up in that range, sigh). Looks like we are in good company there. Now if the scrubber would just do what it currently does and then add 1.0 to all the scores, maybe we'd all feel better for a while (kind of a Lke Woebegon effect - where all the children are above average).

I think the helpful checkbox is automatically cleared if the comment is edited. But that does not answer your question about what changed their mind!

This is kind of cool. My unusual object and freestudy scores are presently neck and neck on both votes and score. How's that for consistency? Someone gave it a 10 this morning. That made up for the one that lowered their vote by 5.

I like the first 30 votes better! Dropped almost .5! Do have 8 GREAT comments and a Fav!

Just finished voting and I have to say that I thought there are some GREAT shots in this challenge. Some don't seem that unusual but I am working on the basis that what seems unusual will vary from brain to brain... Hence the fairly high average score given.

Also with not too many entries it seemed like a good opportunity to go for a complete set of comments - I hope folks are not upset by any of them, I try to avoid backslapping comments which don't contain anything useful.

Do I get a prize? ;o)

Like graphicfunk once said to me, "... when you score in the 6's there is nothing to be excited about, but when you hit the 7's, wellllll..."

All I can say, I really have nothing to feel anything about. And that is Not Unusual for me...

Score has been taking a nose dive from the very start. It is solidly below my overall average which sucks. It is an unusual subject and a pretty original way to portray it too.

I beg to differ. To score in the 6's, for me, is freakin' awesome! And I have one scoring above a 6. That's delightfully unusual! (I'd post it but I have scores turned off - I'll turn them on again tomorrow. It's not a high 6 - just a nice low-middle one, and I'm delighted!!)

Agree. I scratch my head when I see someone whose voting average is in the 5's but they feel their own score in the low 6's or high 5's is not doing well. By their own record that is above average. Perhaps they truly are better, or maybe some of us have lower standards? It truly is difficult to create an image with broad appeal. Even harder if you try to go OOB. IMO, anything over a 5.5 is a very good entry. Perhaps I would feel differently if I could pull 6+'s most of the time.

Different people do have different goals/standards - can't fault 'em for it at all. I know several that would just *die* if they didn't get a 6 on a challenge entry. A high 5 is blasphemy! They operate on a different level - that's cool.

Thanks for the comment, FrankRobinson, and for tackling the entire challenge. Very much appreciated!

It was my pleasure - like I said there were a LOT of really nice shots. Besides, I like to get comments so I guess its only fair to give something back...

What did I do wrong? Both my scores were slaughtered in the past 24 hours... aaaaaaaagggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! I am bleeding!

Yet, I am not really concerned, used to it by now. Honestly proud I have them under my portfolio, and that, I think is really more important.

Thanks to the commentators and the favorite....
