I did find a couple of the Panasonic Lumix LX3s in town. A silver one at a camera store and a black one at Media Markt. I don't think there's a difference other than color (and 10 Euros). Now, I need to decide why in the world I need another camera. Mostly I want something to take with me on my bike, or to throw in the purse to have with me. I do have my little Sony and it does pretty well for that. It does not, however, shoot in RAW.

Do I need another camera? I couldn't find the Ricoh anywhere. I think the biggest limitation of the Lumix would be the 60mm at the high end, but I tend to be a wide kinda person most of the time so it might suit me just fine.

Get it so I can envy you. Or don't get it and then I might get it just to be different. Nobody "needs" another camera; this is all about learning telling little nuances to your use of spices.

wow, where on the world (in germany that is...lol) did you find an lx3?!? a pal of mine got his after like weeks of research from ebay because all online sellers (not to mention camera street stores) were sold out on the black version (and for some reason he wanted the black version. i do have to admit it looks darn sexy!). anyways, if you have the chance to get your hand on one of those i'd say go right for it, it's really a great camera, and you won't even bother zomming in anymore, the 24mm f2 lens totally compensates for the lack of tele mm's imo!

Like I said, they had one at the camera store (remember the one with the monk outside?) and they have three black ones at Media Markt in Wiesbaden. I'll probably go back on Monday and get one.

And I don't know if indoor candids count as "street" (probably not) but I made a rather interesting discovery when I processed this one. :-)

I dunno if I have any clue about this stuff.....to me it seems like Street should be B&W, and all about fleeting composition.

Came across this guy in Hyde Park in Sydney. He was so focused on what he was doing he never noticed me.

Okay, you've inspired me to share this -- only because it's pinhole and it was taken on the street. I wouldn't call it "serious" (that would ruin it, of course).

I was out shooting in the rain today and saw this guy running towards me. Immediately thought of pawdrix and this image.

I couldn't not take the photo...could I?! : )

Sorry for the lack of comments, I have been on vacation, will try and catch up a bit over the next couple of days.
