| People dig wwaaaayyyyyyyy to deep into the meaning of these challenge's. I think it puts doubt in some people's head that may have otherwise had a nice shot and doubt in the voters head to whether they think it fits the challenge or not which seems to result in lower scores being given. |

| I really, really like my shot--and was tempted to put it into free study instead. My husband thinks that people won't think it unusual |

Yeah, I agree, but I'm entering mine anyway fully expecting a sub-4 final score. The object is probably only unusual to me.
Even though the challenge did NOT say to photograph an object which will be judged by the majority of voters to be unusual to them.
It did get me to thinking, that in this age of information overload, nothing is unusual anymore. There is no mystery that has not been explored in HD video on NatGeo. An object is only made unusual by being in the wrong place, like a wristwatch on a bunny rabbit. |

"Unnusual SYNONYMS: extraordinary, remarkable; rare, strange, singular, curious, queer, odd."
Sometimes whether something is "curious", "odd", or "strange" depends as much upon expectations or perspective as on rarity. Not too late to change your mind.
