Woke up this morning and my photo is not doing very well. But I am trying to be optimistic about it - this is the first time I have done this style of photo, so I guess I am at least glad it is not below 5 (but it is really really close) :(

Those are low votes for a pretty good image. The very first vote within seconds of the start of voting was a "4". Something odd in the voting noted.

This may be getting voted harsher than the usual harsh FS voting. Looks like a lot of 4's right now and I know when I vote the freestudies I usually don't see very many I vote that low. It would be interesting to know who and why, but the only way of knowing is if they leave comments. Comments also seem harder to come by these days.

I am lower 4.3. I took a chance with this photo because I normally don't do these shots because it is not in my comfort zone. Then again what is my comfort zone. I seem to do badly no matter what I do. I even tried some new processing in order to make it pop. Well it exploded in the opposite direction. I was so hoping yet again this would be DPC worthy but I obviously don't get it and I am getting more and more gun shy. Days like this I just want to walk away and not come back. It is really hard to be optimistic when you don't know why your photo sucks when you liked it. If it stays in the 4s I am going to have to really consider just walking away and not looking back. I am obviously not learning anymore. Good luck everyone. There are some really nice photos out there. |

Gotta love comments like that! Sort of. I enjoy conflicting comments. the kind where one person tells me the composition does not work and the next person says the comp is spot on perfect.
