I am a current student of New York Institute of Photography. One of the assignments is to make a photograph using converging lines to emphasis the subject.

I understand the idea, but finding it in the real world.....

Suggestions on use of Converging lines?

You'll learn a lot from those exercises. It might be easier to shift to the idea of "leadng lines" rather than strictly "converging". Here are some thoughts, very much dependent on where you put your camera and how you take advantage of light:
* Subject sits on a curb. You crouch down low so the sidewalk edge forms a diagonal line leading to your subject.
* Position subject holding an umbrella so face is about center and edge of umbrella is at edge of image, with staves of umbrella leading to the face.
* Train tracks glistening in setting sun lead to the locomotive facing you down the tracks a bit (try to find one that is not moving down the tracks toward you).
* Flower petals form lines leading to an insect in the flower ceter.

After a while, you will notice leading lines everywehre: stairways, window ledges, theater aisles, edges of fields, garden trenches, towels with colorful stripes, ... etc. etc. etc.

Have fun.
