Welcome to this week's "Member of the Week" post. Every week I will post the name of a member and a link to their profile. This will be our Member of the Week. Go have a look at their profile page and/or portfolio. Enjoy their photos, leave some comments and most of all post one or two of their photos in this thread so others can see them and enjoy them. If you like you can also write a little blurb saying why you enjoy this member's photos.

This week's Member of the Week is Brian Y, bvy. And here are a couple of his photos.

A really great choice for some well-deserved attention. Brain has been very helpful to me recently. He's one of the folks that enters what he likes, damn the torpedoes. He's one of the folks whose work on this site has helped me to appreciate other genres of photography, in this case, street photography which is one of hos specialties.

I picked up a great PP tip from him a little while back, that he had done on this shot:

This one of his scored fairly low, but I thought it made a great point about our society that could have been taken two ways.

That trips me out! I remember loving the way that shot looked and wondering how it was processed. I gave it an 8 in voting. I never ended up checking out the details afterward. Looking back now, I see he mentions that it's a weird combination of cross-processing and sepia. I just randomly discovered this combination myself in the last couple of weeks! In fact, I just used it on a current challenge entry! Craziness.

Oh, and this is one of my favs, and I just discovered the oversight that I hadn't actually faved it!

Brian is very versatile, and shoots very interesting pictures that more often than not have an underlying story. As Steve pointed out, he shoots what he likes, and likes what he shoots - makes him my kinda photographer!

Just a few worth a longer look if you haven't seen them before, but do wander about the portfolio - lots of gems there!

What a surprise!

I'm truly honored -- to be recognized and celebrated by my peers. Wow!

The timing is good too. I've been in a real funk this week. This was a HUGE pick me up.

And I'm happy to see some of my closest DPC friends came to the party! Maybe I'll make a few more...

Thank you, Karen, for the recognition and for keeping MOTW going. And thank you all for the ongoing inspiration and support.
