47's a perfectly normal age for a grandma, sheesh :-)

So... how old would you be if you were a parent?

If you had a child at 23 1/2 (not unheard of, unexpected, or unusual), and that child had a child at 23 1/2, you would be a grandparent at 47. If you had a child at 20, and they had a child at 20, you could be a grandparent at 40.

If you have 3 generations of 16 yo mom's (which may be what pants is referring to. . . ), you would be a ggma at 48.:)

Wooooooow!!!!!!! Gave me goosebumps!

ETA: My daughter is 19. I could conceivably be a grandmother at 36.

I read about her in the local (South African) newspaper this morning. I didn't think I'd actually get to see her perform. So glad I did!

Interesting, I'm not use to this cause my parents are so old and they're already in their early 60s and mid 50s and not even grandparents yet.

Absolutely wonderful! Thank you for that. The song of choice was perfect.

Thanks for sharing .. this is one terrific perfomance .. and the best part is that nobody had the foggiest of the idea that she can sing so well ...
04/13/2009 06:32:21 PM · #37
why people believe that someone of grandma's age would not be able to sing.

Here is one person that can sing

//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lata_Mangeshkar

one of my fav and no her voice is not aged.

I had a dream my life would be
So different form this hell I'm living
so different now from what it seemed
Now life has killed
The dream I dreamed.

Who now thinks or hopes the dream is rekindled..

I'm 62 and my daughter is now 23. I know for a fact that I will never be a grandpa. How do I know you ask... well, I showed my daughter some videos of herself when she was a child and she has now determined that she never wants children... EVER. :O)

I love this quote from Lisa Schwarzbaum in Entertainment Weekly:

"In our pop-minded culture so slavishly obsessed with packaging -- the right face, the right clothes, the right attitudes, the right Facebook posts -- the unpackaged artistic power of the unstyled, un-hip, un-kissed Ms. Boyle let me feel, for the duration of one blazing showstopping ballad, the meaning of human grace. She pierced my defenses. She reordered the measure of beauty. And I had no idea until tears sprang how desperately I need that corrective from time to time."

She made wikipedia

That look that Simon made with his hands on his face was priceless. Apparently he was thinking "kerCHING" because rumor is he is talking business with her already.
