In PS just use a curves layer, click the white sampler and then click on the image in the area that should be white and voila!

Thanks for everyone's help and support. I finally got it down. I had to clone out some of the shadows (is that legal in advanced editing)? I think I may need to buy 2 more smaller dome lights to cut out some of the shadows but it worked well. I set the white balance to incandescent in my camera. I tried doing it in auto but in auto it also automatically sets the white balance and won't let me adjust it. I had to shoot it in manual to select my preferred white balance. Thanks again for the PS tips. The white sampler worked beautifully. I know some may not like the subject in this shot. Sorry about that but I thought it was a good strong image.

edit- please critique the shot if you can spare a moment. Again thanks for all those who have helped me through this. I would not have been able to get even this for on my own.

Now you're on the right track.

Cloning out major shadows not allowed in advanced editing though.
