Had a good idea but basic editing killed it. Oh well.

You would think with this being "stock photos", that advanced editing would have been allowed. I guess this might be a tough challenge.

Can someone tell me what makes a good stock photo? I've never shot one before. Thank you.

Go take a look around some stock photo sites like Dreamstime, Getty Images, Shutterstock, and the like.

Most of these probably would not fit the stock photo theme but fitness was a basic editing challenge once.

So, only exercise pictures or do you think the DPC'ers will allow for anything fitness/health related?

Most of the examples I looked at of "fitness" stock or other stock photos seem to have a fairly simple background (white) with real even lighting. Would this be fair to say? I guess what I'm asking is, "what makes a picture a stock shot?"

I'd say fairly bold but generic and well lit with high-key details. Stock photos generally have attractive participants (where people are featured) so I'd expect stock fitness pics to have skinny scnatily clad models on exercise bikes or running through perfect parkland. From the stock fitness pics I've seen there are not a lot of faces shown, just perfect bodies.
