I know it's broad, but I wanted it to be good for everyone. Figure out your take on the side challenge and let me know. I will list everyone here with their specific topic.

So, take this broad topic and decide what it specifically means for you. Some ideas would be to only capture one color in all your photographs (a month of purple), or you could have every photo be a different color (30 different colors, woohoo). Maybe you will keep the broad color and always shoot the same subject such as the color of flowers or birds. You can choose how often you post pics, just let us know what to expect. I understand the busy months, but would still love to see your take on the color side challenge.

Everyone should be able to get excited about some twist of this side challenge. Have fun with it!! Sign up here, then I will start a thread for the pics right before April. Let's explore our colorful world! Anyone with me?

List of those interested!
WriteHeart - Natural Color - All the colors I see in nature.
phylsy7 - Crayon Colors - Picking the color of the day from the crayon box.
MelonMusketeer - Straight from the camera, natural colors with mostly one general color - 2 pics per week
Shaka - One Dominating Color - 4 pics per week
sfalice - Blue - Maybe playing with some "slider color"
jomari - Alphabet Colors - Choosing colors through the alphabet
patio127 - Colors of Nature

And those providing much appreciated comments and support!

I finally decided to do Natural Color, photographing the colors I see in nature. I am going to try to get as varied as I can when it comes to colors. There will probably be a mix of flowers and wildlife with a goal of getting vibrant colors.

Anyone else interested?

Watch out for becoming too taken with photographing colour; you'll turn into Ken Rockwell lol

I've never done a side challenge but this sounds interesting. I think I will pick a crayon from my grandson's crayon box and shoot that color that day. There will probably be duplicate colors but the box will dictate the color of the day.

I love this idea!! Welcome aboard. I love side challenges. I'm going to try very hard to finish this one all the way through. I did a Black and White side challenge and finished that one, so I am hoping color is as successful. I can't wait to see your pictures with this idea. It will be fun!

I can't do it, but I'll say so publicly if it means bumping your thread. I'll be happy to comment on images though (hold me to it if I slip up).

Lots of possibilities here. I'm surprised more folks aren't jumping on...

I can't do the whole month every day, but would be interested in posting about 2 images per week, and commenting as much as I can on images posted on those days. April is a busy time of year for me with the vegetable harvest still going strong here.
Maybe this thread is going slowly because it's Sunday and not a lot of DPCer's are on line right now.

I wish I could participate in this but I just won't have time in April :( I'll keep looking to see if this continues into May :)

I understand the busy months, whatever you can do is fine. This is just for fun and I am not a huge stickler for rules. We would love for you to participate however often you can. Have you thought of a theme? If not, no biggie, just go with the flow.

Can't wait to see your pictures!

Sorry you can't make it, I understand, but we will miss you! I love your pictures! I am sure we will think of something for May. Hope to see you then!

I'd like to play. :) I guess I think of simply shooting a photo that has one dominating color "theme" to it (or something like that), but not necessarily choosing which color that might be beforehand or anything. I don't know if I can get one in each day, but I can try for at least four per week!

Join whenever you can, four a week will be great. Pictures with one dominating color are so powerful! It will be exciting to see your pictures. I can't wait till Wednesday!

Oh, you probably should put my name in there too. Maybe for blue.
It also may be that some of my color may be 'slider color' as I find
some of that to be fascinating to play with.

That sounds so neat! I can't wait to see it. Blue - one of my favorite colors (ties with Purple)!

I think that my choice of color will be "straight from the camera" with levels and brightness adjusted for better shadows. My shots will be mostly natural color, like sunsets birds and plants. I will try to find shots that are mostly one general color.

Is this the "Post It" thread, or is there going to be a new thread for the images?

OK, here's the posting thread! Let the colors shine (post here).

Can I join in here? I was thinking of alphabet colours. I'm sure there'll be letters that have no colours, but I'll try to be inventive.

Jomari, this sounds great! So creative. I can't wait to see them.

I have you added to the lists! Welcome!
