It was so fun going through all of the images while voting that I did it again to dig up a few treasures. I didn't want to clog up posthumous's thread because I couldn't narrow my selection down because i have a hard time making up my mind I felt there were so many that deserved mention. Feel free to post some of your hidden gems.

And, where was the shot that was a matrix of windows reflecting other buildings and colors-- couldn't seem to locate it!

Some of my favorites placed quite well, but here are a few that finished out of the top 20 -

Thanks so much, Karen. I think that's the first time one of my photos has been referenced in a post-challenge thread.

Well, heck. Then I wish I'd mentioned it earlier :-) The good news is this mention caused me to go back and, sure enough, I had not faved it, which I had intended to do. Rectified that situation. Really nice, clean work.

Thanks so much, Bear. I just got all tingly and teary. :-)
And by the way, I appreciated your comment on my entry VERY much, and was going to mention it in the favorite comments thread, but I'll just say it here instead. Cheers!

These are the ones from the Hidden Gem that I marked favorites. I like the quirky nature of many of them a lot.

These all got votes of 10 from me, despite placements up to 398th in the challenge–

Thanks Karen! I don't usually post in the forums, but when I saw you highlighted my photo (Blue Flax), I couldn't resist! ;^)

"Wonky Goggles" got a 10 and a fave from me. So much bizarre *presence* here :-)

"Beyond the rock into the great earth beyond" is arguably the best landscape entered, to my way of seeing, and stands as the perfect riposte to those who dismiss HDRI as a gimmick. Of course, it almost cracked top 20, so it's not especially "hidden"...

"A Wonderful Winter in the land of Dr. Seuss" is beyond bizarro, a wildly wacky and utterly compelling alien earthscape:

"...pass through the gate..." Is remarkable for its layering of crystal-sharp tracery with blurred counterpuntal accents, and is literally breathtaking in its sweep. I had thought it was a lensbaby shot, but I was wrong.

I marked all these as faves... and more...

These were my chosen favs - they ranged in place from 11th to 698th!!
I probably would have marked more had I done this while I was voting, but I didn't figure out how until after the thread came out about picking five favorites. So I went back, but I couldn't limit myself to just five....

I normally detest HDR but I voted this image a 9. It seems I don't detest HDR afterall, just poorly done HDR.

Maybe change "poorly done" to "overcooked" or "exaggerated"? After all, if the over-the-top effect is what the photographer had in mind, then it's well-enough done, isn't it? Just not your cup of tea?
