Now I just think that you think I sound sexy when I say Oy Vey.

Paul Simon: screw everybody

People say he's crazy cuz he's got diamonds in the mounts for hot-shoes...

Now, that's one way to cure these shooting blues...

I'd rather have gin, but I wouldn't say no to a screwdriver.

We're screwing the driver anyway, unless he's in a drunken condition. You can probably open the bottle with a penknife.

The only thing that will change in this environment is you. You can grow and learn, open your mind to different styles and ideas, or you can stand back and complain bitterly because it doesn't go the way YOU think it should.

You don't have to do anything outside of the way you do now, but how do you expect to grow and develop your skills, be they techniques in photography, setup, and/or post-processing?

The whole reason that you're here is for exactly that, and you know how it goes here, so either derive the education that you can from it, or simply give up and whine.

If nothing else, you'll see a myriad of ways that you DON'T want to do things, but I honestly find it hard to believe that all of the people who have grumbled about something here actually haven't learned at least threefold good things in the process.

I know I'm a starry-eyed PollyAnna who pretty much sees the glass as half full all the time, but I'm damn sure a stellar example of how much someone can improve in a relatively short amount of time.

I'm quite proud of my 324th place image, and I entered it as my gem as the best image I've shot because it was the one that I'd done the absolute least amount of PP to......it simply is just about my best actual straight photograph.

Yet most of what I've learned here is PP skills which have finally enabled me to garner a 7.1984. The thing is, though you may argue that this is a terrific example that only PS enhanced images do well, what that enabled me to do was to convey the scene as *I* actually saw it in my mind's eye, not how it actually came out when I downloaded it.

I have also learned a ton of photography skills here which enables me a much better starting point no matter what happens after download.....it's the old "Polish a turd, and what do you get?" syndrome.

So IMNSHO, you can gripe, or you can take it all in, keep what you can use, and kick the rest to the curb.

And if you are that good that nothing here can help you, then make that bazillion dollars in your photography career and quit wasting your time with the rest of us who are here to have fun and learn!
