I notice as I go trough all the challenge comments on all the entries that with some of the very low scoring entries not one single comment has been clicked as " Comment Appreciated" Does this mean that the member who entered that image could not care less about the comments received and did not even bother to read his/her comments?
Little appreciation then for all the hard work people put into commenting on a uninspiring entry.
I see that it not only applies to low scoring entries but to high and mid range entries too. So it's something that happens across the whole range.

Probably. And those are also probably the same people who gave my photo 1s and 2s and left no comments.

A lot of those people are also new. I found that they haven't marked any comments as helpful. I don't think its a lack of appreciation but rather they don't know of our quirky cultural norms on this site.

A few are but most have been members far longer then I have.
Anyway...no big deal really.

I've noticed this too... I would like it if people work mark them as helpful (if they were). Many of use spent a lot of time commenting on all the images. Before the challenge started, many people thought there were going to be very few comments, considering the size of the challenge. So, people stepped up to the plate, and committed a lot of time to comment. The least a recipient could do is mark them helpful.

You sure 'bout that?

Some high scorers don't check theirs as well. That's okay. But it does dissuade me from adding a comment post-challenge.

I am not much of a commenter but always mark the comments received as helpful. Only some out of line do not get it.

I for one am extraordinarily pleased with the outcome of my entry and was overwhelmed by the many comments received. I am also proud to state that I marked each and every comment as "helpful" because simply "they were helpful". My abstracts 220th place finish was a victory for me and my unique style of digital photographic art. To all those that viewed, voted and or commented on "Colored Parchment" I say a big "THANK YOU!".

Avg 6.0962 Place 220 / 1113 % 80% Comments 69 Faves 11
