If your looking for something to photograph and you live near NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, the Space Shuttle Discovery is taking off tonight at 7:43pm EDT.

I live on the palm beach-broward line and am wondering if I will be able to see it at all? I may stroll over beachside if its clear later

If i lived in Florida i would watch every launch.
I was lucky to catch one while on a 2 week holiday a couple of years back. The 2-3 hour traffic jam each way was well worth it.

Awesome shot. BTW if you aren't close to the launch site you can watch it live on TV, Vcast, Nasa.com and I'm sure about 20 other ways hahaha.

Couldn't see too much here from Orlando. Too cloudy, the shuttle was in and out the whole time. I'll have to see what I got.

The Shuttle trail of smoke was soooooo beautiful with the setting sun reflecting on it and the moon behind a cloud. It looked like something from another world! I snapped a shot of it from my car, but I hope someone took a shot of it with a pro setup from a better vantage point.

I had 2 cameras (one wide and one long) set and shot like mad. About to start dumping cards now. It was a really pretty launch, the sunset light was fantastic.

These are all awesome pictures. I think I will drive down for the next launch. I've always thought this was cool and I've always wanted to see it in real life so I'll be there for next launch.

I'm only 380 miles away and I saw the shuttle for about 1 second here as it was up up and away.

Cindi, where are you? We are eagerly awaiting the shots of the shuttle in high heels with an umbrella on it.
