I've barely been able to vote so far(29%) kudos to the commenters

13 comments and they are all great.

I am shocked and surprised that there now over

Comments Made: 18,119

and

Votes Cast: 228,294

You are all amazing and there are not enough pats on your backs for doing this!!!

Well done people, everyone should be proud of themselves

Yeah. a score of 5.425 and 12 comments. Only one person who has actually said anything even slightly negative about my pic.

Yeah, it's a party, but please don't forget that most people here appreciate learning as much or more than a pat on the back.

I sent out a half negative half positive comment and got a lovely response from someone who wanted to learn more about bokeh. She was very gracious for my yammering.

It is pretty obvious that people aren't being all that kind with their numerical votes, so it would be very nice if people were a bit more open with their comments.

Agree. My comments are giving me lots of love and although my shot went above 6 for a while it has gone back down to a more normal, but respectable score. Guess the higher scorers are giving comments and the lower scorers dont want to spoil the party - 1 person so far gave me a comment about ways to improve which was really appreciated & a bit more would be nice (dont stop giving out the love though people, its great)

32 comments here. Amazing for a challenge of this size.

20 comments here. I've gotten more a few times, generally on gag shots.

23 comments here. And indeed, very amazing!

Unfortunately I don't have the time to comment before rollover, but I hope I can complete voting!

Yes, I've been surprised to have 22 comments and 1 favorite and only a low/mid range score. All the comments have been positive. I really need to block out some time to vote some more on this challenge. It's been fun.

21 Comments here so far. I plan on going through starting tomorrow and scoring/commenting. Good comments too.

36 comments so far. absolutely amazing! has definitely made me commit to commenting more on this challenge. am planning on taking some time this weekend for a marathon commenting session.
03/12/2009 04:38:35 PM · #39
No, only 13. I have made only about 4 myself because I like to comment later. I just look at the total comments. Won't read them until after I vote. Don't like anything to interfere with my emotions which could cause me to cast lower scores, so I wait until I am done voting and commenting before I even look at them.

I am really amazed at how many comments there are for 1100 entries!

Quite rewarding...really...;-)

up to 38 now. More comments than I've received on 3 of my ribbon winners and 4 HM's. Unbelievable!

would be cool if everyone who submitted left a comment for everyone.... mind boggling calculations.... 17 comments so far.

I've received 20 comments thus far, and nearly all of them positive and complimentary. My score, though, certainly doesn't reflect this. I certainly appreciate the comments, however I know that I've received quite a few low scores. I'd be quite interested in hearing from those folks as well. It's one thing to mark an image as a three, and an entirely different thing to mark an image as a three and then explain why in a constructive fashion. Is that too much to ask? I'm thinking that I know why I'm getting some low scores, but I'll address that after the challenge is over...

I've got 12 comments so far and I've made 22. Posted those last night and I'm going to do some more tonight, aiming to comment on at least 150 altogether.

I think it comes down to a few call-outs before the challenge started that suggested that people not leave the usual comments that consist of suggestions/negative critiques/etc. that are keeping people away from that sort of thing. That and the fact that in such an unusual challenge, who wants to be the one known for being a bad-vibe bringer?

Personally, I'd love to see a little more variety in the comments myself, but I'll take whatever people wish to throw at me as well.

This is an unusual, eclectic, and bizarre challenge and I think all bets were thrown out the window when it started. Perhaps it'll just take a couple of days before some of the more critique-ish comments start coming in, but my money is on nobody daring to go that route this time.

37 comments - it's great to get feedback from people!

I'm one of those who's not offering criticism or suggestions in this one. Plenty of opportunities for that in regular challenges. This one to me is more of a celebration of sorts - and I'm viewing the photographs in that light. If anyone wants more critical comments, I'd suggest asking after the challenge is over. And I have a TON of comments on mine - very grateful for them - thanks!!

Well, I got a few comments, including this one: "It's hard to tell what this is. The dark area is very dark and I can't tell if anything else is in the tower under the top two boxes."
So, someone please go the tower and look under the box.
Maybe something is there.
