I'm betting we'll see a whole bunch added in the last 5 hours. My estimation is between 800-900.

That number would make Langdon happy. :-)

From the OP...

You know, I was just lookin' at this number and I said to myself "No WAY we can beat that number in a challenge with 800+ entries!" But then I thought to myself, maybe the occasion is special enough to justify "generic commenting" just this one time? You know, "Love it! Happy 1000th, Langdon!" on every entry comes to mind :-)

Nah. If we're going to beat a commenting record, I want to see it beat by honest to pete commenting. Not because we banded together to generically beat it. Not much to applaud if we have 72 identical comments pasted onto our photos. That would be hell.

Ummm...I think he's reaching a bit on that one. :-) The first Masters' Free Study only had 69 entries.

Yah, yer probably right. That's a record that will no doubt stand forever :-)

As for what I am going to enter, I have decided to treat this as a "showcase for personal work" rather than as a challenge, so what I'm entering has zero chance of winning... Of course, realistically, nothing I have ever shot has a chance of winning this challenge, so it was an easy decision to make :-)

Wow...I am entry 608. So what's 20% of that. 120+? Wow. Kudos to anyone who can put meaningful comments on even half of the entries. Heck...I'd be happy to vote on half of the entries!

That's a great question. In an open challenge I'm gonna guess 20% or less.

I would guess even lower than that, maybe 5%.

This would make a great poll question.

Depends, do you mean "real" calibration or are you including software like Monitor Calibration Wizard?

I was actually referring to "real" calibration, but I'd welcome this one to the list of options, should such a poll take place.

I figure I'm going to request DQ for 75% of all the images immediately and that will lighten the burden on the commenters.;-)

It was fun to look back at some stuff I hadn't seen in a while. I stumbled across these two which have never seen the light of day. I decided, however, to go with something different. The first one, I likely would have cloned out that contrail, but do enjoy the shot of Orion.

I was wondering the same thing and I just now dug up the other thread on this challenge. I guess I should have gone here and posted instead.
