Cool. The freestudy of all freestudies. It'll be a good one, for sure.

A couple more thoughts - put something in that YOU like! Try not to focus on pleasing the voters - we're a very diverse crowd - let's see some of that diversity in this challenge. Also, even if you don't normally vote in challenges you enter, consider making an exception this time. Hopefully there will be a lot of entries to meet Langdon's goal, and that will require a lot of folks to vote and comment. I'd suggest you vote at least 23% (cover the minimum) and consider commenting on 10% of those you vote - should be do-able for everybody. And since it's a Free Study, no DNMCs! :-)

This will be fun!

My first idea is that I am going to try and enter something that I am not known for. I reserve the right to change my mind of course, but I am going to try not to enter anything that was taken at the same time as those on my first page. (top 5) People are thinking I may enter eagles, wakeboarders or now wolves, but I am going to try not to do that. :)

This is such a good idea !!!

Congratulations to DPChallenge on reaching 1000 challenges and thank you Langdon, for giving us all the opportunity to help celebrate.

Thank you Langdon and congratulations to vtruan and Bear_Music, the 1000th challenge that Langdon has announced resembles a combination of your suggestions. I don't know if he viewed the suggestion list but congratulations all the same.

I would like to thank everyone that took the time to suggest a theme for the 1000th challenge. I wish to congratulate all of you for your participation.

The 1000th Challenge Suggestion was not an official DPChallenge.com request for a suggestion but I can't help but think that Langdon may have took a peek at the list. :)

Thanks everyone,
Scott

ETA: A very good theme for the 1000th challenge. Thanks Langdon, Site Council, and especially everyone here (Members and Registered Users) for allowing DPC to reach this milestone.

I just missed my first free study in 2 1/2 years. I'll definitely be in this one!

Langdon, please do insert a special rule to clear up any confusion about dates.

Awesome challenge!

Im going to look forward to trawling through all of the shots on my pc from the last few years.
I have a feeling which folder my best shot ever may come from and it probably wont score high as it was taken on my old compact camera. But I dont care, im going to find my fave of faves and thats what I will share with you all.

Ooooo I cant wait to see everyones entries.

Cheers Langdon and everyone else that puts so much effort in to make this site an amazing place to be!

I was wondering...since the goal is to top all those records in Langdon's post, that could conceivably top 1000 entries (that would be nice for this challenge) but just 1 week for voting? Could this be extended to possibly 2 weeks so voting and commenting on all entries could be more feasible? Just a thought. Good luck all.

Side challenge: Vote/comment 100% for the challenge. Anyone game?

If participation warrants, Langdon may extend the voting period. He already mentioned it. On the other hand, if we get 6 days into the voting and there isn't much activity...

I wouldn't mind the extension on voting... but, as a stats "purist" unless we broke those records in the same time period as those challenges, then they would not really be "broken". There would be an asterisk next to the records in the DPC Hall of Fame. :)

Hey Langdon ... are you planning to enter? Seems fitting that you'd enter an image in such a milestone challange ...

The big 1,000 - a milestone. Thank you Langdon, Drew, the Site Council and EVERY SINGLE DPCer who has made this a wonderful site to visit!

Hmmm, I wonder if we will hit 1,000 submissions on this:-)

Now for my tough part - choosing something from my archives.

That's why I made sure to say: "unless we broke those records in the same time period as those challenges" because I was too lazy to look it up. :)

Ah! This is lovely.

It would be fun if more and more of us submit. Forget the scores.
Show us the shot that is 'most dear to you'. And we are sure going to
love it!

Thanks Langdon, thanks everyone!
