Avg (participants): 5.8800
Avg (non-participants): 6.0380
It is usual for non-participants to score higher than participants. I wouldn't suggest it has anything to do with malicious voting. |
Don't forget, the non-participants are usually small in number compared to participants so there is a much smaller sampling being averaged. |

How do we know that? It'd be nice to see a number next to those stats (number of voters I mean). |

It is pretty typical but not always the case, with less no participants a few votes on the high or low can sway that number. If you look at my Best of 2008 numbers the non participant number is a lot lower but there had to be a lot fewer non participant votes so the overall was not drastically affected. Not sure what the percentage of voters fall into each categorie but I would guess a couple of voter in a small group can alter the results. Personally I am in favor of encourging as many voters as possible so the abnormal votes have less of an effect.
