Lemme see...last Friday at noon it was +9C and pouring rain. That evening the weather dropped to -26C and the roads turned into skating rinks.... The joys of winter. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggg I am so tired of it all.

We got it here in Missouri yesterday. Forecast was a chance of a few flurries. Sat on us and snowed all day.

We had over a foot of snow fall yesterday in ten hours.

We had snow two Fridays in a row, but it didn't stick around very long. Now it's sunny, but with a cold wind. Lots of plum blossoms out.

It's the first "real" snow we've had all year! Go take pictures because you won't see it for another year. =)

I can still see the Woodrow Wilson Bridge out my window, and there's not really any accumulation on I-495 yet, so I'm steadily losing hope for a snow day in Va. tomorrow. :(

511 - Road Conditions

Go to your location (say Arlington), zoom out a couple of times and scroll down. It's coming your way - currently around Quantico and coming NE. There's hope for you yet! :-) They've closed schools for our area tomorrow. Right now we have between 2-3 inches and it's coming down hard with big fat juicy flakes!

ETA - Look at the Richmond area. Roads are a mess!

Around here they don't close school for snow. The only time is if there is an ice storm that leaves the roads too hazardous for the buses to navigate. I think they had one day this year.

LOL. 1/2 an inch around here and you're looking at least a 2 hour delay, if not a closing. :-)

My son got a snow day today too (NJ), but they already announced that they have to make it up with a spring break day. This was their only snow day this school year. Spring break was only 4 days this year to begin with, now it will only be 3.

I'm soo, soooo ready to be out of here myself. :( Problem is, once my hubby finishes up in Afghanistan we want to move to Europe, and there isn't any point in my moving the entire household for a temp stay somewhere cooler. Especially with the housing market the way it is.

We have had very little snow in Colorado with the exception of the mountains which have had a pretty good year for snow. I sort of miss the white stuff. Probably won't see any now. Maybe we will get a storm in March or April, but all signs are pointing to an early spring around here.

We are supposed to get upwards of a foot today. It started snowing after Midnight, and we are in a slight lull right now. They cancelled school, and My daughters gymnastics again.

Update...if you get 6 inches, they cancel school two days in a row. Geeessssh! Kids are out again tomorrow.

I plowed our driveway today and it's clear and dry now; same with the road out front. I don't get it (school closing).

We still have to go to school in that.

TIP:

We're all photographers here. As photographers, we all should know that when shooting snow, generally an increase in exposure of 1 to 2 stops is necessary to get white snow.

Light meters treat the snow just like a gray card and exposes it accordingly. Most every time, this is why, when relying on light meters (or automatic mode), snow appears gray in photos.

We are going to be at 75 this week. That is pretty awesome for early march. I might have to put some shorts on or something.
