NFL.com has reported he asked his agent to inform the Jets that he will retire.

As a life long Packer Fan I certainly hope he really does it this time. But this time of year the guy just can not make up his mind. So who knows.

Anyone want to start a friendy pool picking the date that he announces his unretirement? If he does my guess is March 27th

He's just a cry baby trying to find more attention. The man has plenty of money. He needs to get a life. Maybe a part-time job for free?

As a life-long Packer resident and someone who as literally lived in the shadow of Lambeau Field, all I can say is...

At least it's not us up on that emotional teeter totter anymore.

I think he's really done this time. I got plenty sick of the drama last pre-season. And I am not a Packers or Jets fan. I have a feeling his shoulder is much worse than they have let on and much like Elway and his knees, its not the loss of desire thats pushing him out but his body.

I'll always have respect for Brett, even though he pushed it last season, the man loved the game and loved to play.

My guess for unretirement is April 24th at midnight. Just prior to a lot of team decisions, subject to:

2009 NFL Draft
When: April 25-26

My question is this, if he does stay retired, will the Packer fans accept him back and be happy if he goes to the hall in a Packer jersey?

Yeah. It just could have been better.

I get it, the guy loves the game, and wants to play. But I supported the Packers saying 'no mas' when he tried to unretire - I mean, come on. We have to start moving forward; going year-to-year without any certainty of your QB's plans are no way to build a team.

Yes. There will be a few sour faces when that happens but it will happen and it will be a happy day in Packerland

LOL, the Brett Favre saga continues. Like Richard, I'm pretty skeptical that his retirement will "stick" this time. Come Springtime, he'll start to wonder if one more year is possible, he'll start to feel better and the waffling will begin anew.
I do hope he can learn from the past and just walk away. He needs to realize that he has the rest of his life in front of him and he needs to be healthy enough to enjoy it.
He's a tough competitor, and it's difficult to face the time when you can't compete anymore. I wish him the best of luck, he is a class act, even if he is a bit of a prima donna.

If the military had rockets that missed their mark that often, the budget would be something to behold.

I predict he will be behind a microphone this year. ESPN really loves hiring retired superstars like Favre.
(So I can't give a date in the pool because I really believe he is done this time. No, really.) ;)

Just as long as we don't have to see him cry again! I can't take it!
He should hang it up, just don't blubber.
