It'd be really nice if there was an RSS feed for all the challenges. Then I could subscribe to it both on my work station and/or on my iPhone.

Please consider such a feature. For many of us who are just finding ourselves way too busy these days. It would help facilitate us participating in challenges again.

:-)

This question has been asked before but I think it should be brought up again as many of us would find it very handy to have our scores available to us via RSS feed.

One reason the site owners may not want this is that it may reduce traffic to the site and hence reduce it's commercial value in terms of
advertising space and resale etc etc

Actually, RSS Feed for Challenges may increase traffic as users will be notified of new challenges easier, hence, more participation.

We don't need RSS for scores, we can look at the results after the voting, but RSS for new challenges would be awesome!

I'd like an RSS feed to keep up with Slippy's antics, including links to his Youtube channel. Now THAT would be entertaining.

Oh gawd. Don't encourage his TOTAL AWESOMENESS! he'll probably do it.

FWIW, you can already create RSS feeds for YouTube using the following:
//www.youtube.com/rss/user/REPLACEWITHUSERNAME/videos.rss

obviously, you need to replace the REPLACEWITHUSERNAME part with a real username :) For example, for a user called "slippy":
//www.youtube.com/rss/user/slippy/videos.rss

Enjoy ;)

An alternative to setting up the RSS feeds would be to use Twitter to announce the challenges. You can actually set up your Twitter account to send you mobile alerts for tweets from someone you're following. For example, @DPC-Challenge could be used for announcing the new challenges, and if you followed them on Twitter, you could set it up to get a text message whenever they posted the new challenges. Side-note to the site devs, there are some APIs and librares out for Twitter, so there's a good chance you could actually make the tweet creation automatic when you update the challenges on the site.

That being said, I'd love to get RSS feeds on all the photo collections, I have some wifi digital picture frames that can subscribe to RSS feeds (via FrameChannel) and it would be great to be able to gather images from DPC. I think it would be awesome to have a montage of all the entries of the previous challenge (I think this would probably need to be *after* the voting period, since we want to encourage everyone to show up on the site to vote).

I think a whole RSS suite would be excellent. One for each challenge, and one for each member so you can keep track of their uploads etc.

Here's my contribution

I made an RSS feed for Exclusive Open Challenges (sorry to the members). You can subscribe to it if you want to.

I'll just leave it up indefinitely, until I run out of money to host my site or until DPC reconstructs their website and change every bit of code in their challenge page.
