As others have remarked, IMO when we have a deja vu challenge there should be a special rule REQUIRING reference to the original in the title, and mandating DQ for images that do not do this. That would solve the problem. Or what I perceive as a problem anyway; others may not agree. Which is why I stopped voting.

I fully agree with all of your thoughts, however, I think that by either changing the way you started voting (disregarding whether or not the challenge was met) or by stopping your voting below the 20% line, you would be penalizing those who made the effort to meet the challenge, would be rewarding those who did not and would have wasted a lot of your time to accomplish exactly the opposite of what you wanted to accomplish in the first place. Just my opinion.

Just because someone didn’t put link into the title does not mean they didn’t meet the challenge. Actually the only way to tell if the challenge was met or not is after the challenge is finished and see if the link was put into the description!! In theory if you put link into the title and not into the description you have not met the challenge.

This is the problem Bear_Music and other voters are having. I agree with his decision and I won’t vote on this challenge it’s been a total stuff-up from the beginning.

Well... by that reasoning, ANY time ANY member chooses not to vote in a challenge s/he's penalizing/rewarding the different groups right? So that doesn't make much sense to me, that an abstention has any effect.

I'm not sure how may of you have reached over 300 views in this sparse challenge. I just got there today. Odd karma in comments in this thread: those who want to go up seem to go down; while those who want to drop in score are going up. I was at a lovely 2.6 just a few days ago, and now risk topping 3.0. Arrggh! No respect for us bottom-dwellers. Cursed Anti-Trolls who seem to delight in handing out helium balloon 10's willynilly like clowns. Watch out, I'm scoring the rest of you 10's.

The difference is that you had already spent time and effort selecting a group of photos you thought met the challenge vs those that did not and scored them accordingly, thus, what I said applies to that group. It would be different if you had not voted on any photo.

You will not know what entries have meet the challenge until after the challenge is over. The only requirement was to put the linked challenge tag into the description

Trolls came after me in the last couple hours. Down nearly .3 in something like 10 votes.

I think you are argueing with yourself here :) NO ONE has disputed that you could put the brown ribbon in the title.

I'm really a bit over the whole issue!! Obviously it was an oversight by the admin. Now it’s just about whether you feel comfortable in how you vote and if you’re not comfortable then don’t vote at all, plenty of other challenges to vote on and enter.
